The Singapore Fashion Council Gala 2024 showcased cutting-edge fashion, sustainability, and innovation, with the presence of prominent figures alongside the unveiling of the Singapore Stories runway and the inaugural IMPACT Award.
SINGAPORE, October 4, 2025 – The Singapore Fashion Council (SFC) Gala 2024 took place in Singapore, gathering industry leaders, government representatives, diplomats, and fashion enthusiasts to celebrate the dynamic evolution of fashion in Asia. The event was addressed by Minister Indranee Rajah, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office, Second Minister for Finance, and Second Minister for National Development. Among the distinguished attendees was the South African High Commissioner to Singapore, H.E. Madiepetsane Charlotte Lobe, who witnessed the event’s focus on sustainable fashion and cross-industry collaboration.
The SFC, formerly known as the Textile and Fashion Federation (Singapore), is the official association for the textile and fashion industry in Singapore. Its transformative vision aims to position Singapore as a vibrant hub for responsible fashion, underpinned by three pillars: Sustainability, Innovation & Technology, and Asian Craftsmanship. The gala exemplified this mission by spotlighting the industry’s commitment to ecological responsibility and the integration of sustainable practices across all aspects of fashion.
One of the evening’s highlights was the Singapore Stories runway show, a platform designed to showcase the creativity of designers from Singapore and beyond. Each year, Singapore Stories encourages designers to push the boundaries of innovation, and the 2024 edition focused on the theme “Eternally Circular.” The theme reflected the growing importance of circularity in fashion—designers were tasked with creating collections that embraced regeneration, reuse, and resource optimization, as well as the cyclical nature of trends and sustainability.
The SFC Gala 2024 also marked the introduction of the inaugural IMPACT Award (Inspiring Movement for Positive And Conscious Transformation), which honored individuals, businesses, and projects that have made significant contributions to sustainability in the fashion industry. The award recognized innovative practices in environmental stewardship and social responsibility, spotlighting those who are leading the charge for a more circular and sustainable fashion ecosystem. The winners were lauded for their long-term progress and their impact on both the environment and their communities.
The presence of the South African High Commissioner to Singapore underscored the growing collaboration between Singapore and South Africa’s fashion industries. Both nations share a commitment to promoting responsible fashion practices and using the industry as a vehicle for economic growth and sustainability. The High Commission is actively working to facilitate partnerships between the Singapore Fashion Council and its South African counterpart to further strengthen these ties.
The SFC Gala 2024 was a glamorous celebration of unity, collaboration, and the boundless possibilities of fashion. It brought together fashion industry leaders, diplomats, government officials, and local advocates, all united in promoting responsible, innovative, and sustainable fashion.
