Singapore Art Week 2025 celebrates SG60 with SAW x PAssionArts, bringing unique community art installations to life from 17–26 January.

Singapore Art Week 2025 (SAW 2025) returns with an exciting collaboration, SAW x PAssionArts, running from 17 to 26 January 2025. This third edition invites the public to explore captivating art installations co-created by local artists and residents under the theme “Building Our SG Together”, celebrating Singapore’s 60th year of independence (SG60). The island-wide initiative transforms everyday spaces into vibrant hubs of creativity and reflection.

Highlights include:

Mountbatten CACC – National Antiquities Parade

17 – 26 Jan 2025, 12 pm – 8 pm | Singapore Sports Hub, Visitor Centre, 6 Stadium Walk, S397698

Artists: Raihan Harun, Joanne Lim, Lexis Lu, Beverly Liang, Feroz Jaan Malik, Poonam Saksena-Taylor

With the support from Mountbatten Community Arts and Culture Club (CACC), the National Antiquities Parade is an interactive art installation that invites Singapore Art Week explorers to restore and paint freshly unearthed clay figurines depicting the last National Day held at the Kallang National Stadium.

Residents of Mountbatten collaborated with professional artists to create this “archaeological discovery”, commemorating the inspection of the Guard of Honour during the National Day Parade.

Arts Conservator and interdimensional traveller Dr. Farook Farkhan from the Temporal Displacement Agency are seeking your assistance. With their unique perspectives and creativity, can contemporary Singaporeans paint the sculptures in the colours of national unity in time for SG60 celebrations?

This community-driven participatory arts project is a tribute to Mountbatten’s unique contribution to Singapore’s nationhood as the only residential area to host National Day parades from 1973 to 2006.

Participants attended a guided tour to observe the biodiversity in the neighbourhood, followed by an art-making session to document their walk. This installation invites viewers to reflect on consumption and waste, encouraging them to think about their role in shaping a sustainable future, as part of our collective responsibility in a forward-thinking society.

These projects exemplify Singapore’s unique ability to blend creativity with community engagement, making SAW 2025 a cornerstone of the SG60 celebrations.
