Strengthening international cooperation to advance labour market strategies

Riyadh, 30 January 2025 – The Director-General of the Human Resources Development Fund (HRDF), Turki bin Abdullah Al-Jawini, welcomed delegations from international observatories in Germany, Azerbaijan, and Singapore, alongside a World Bank representative, at the fund’s headquarters in Riyadh. The meeting formed part of the Global Labour Market Conference (GLMC) 2025, held in the Saudi capital.

The discussions focused on the exchange of expertise and insights into global labour market trends, economic opportunities within the Kingdom, and alignment with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 objectives. Emphasising international cooperation, the gathering aimed to enhance sustainable economic development and build strategic partnerships with global observatories.

During the session, delegates reviewed HRDF’s key initiatives and programs, highlighting its role in fostering informed decision-making through data-driven strategies. A visual presentation outlined the contributions of the National Labour Observatory (NLO) in leveraging reliable analytics to improve workforce planning. The conference also featured interactive discussions where international representatives shared best practices and experiences in advancing labour market policies.

Concluding the programme, the delegations visited Diriyah’s historical landmarks, including the UNESCO-listed Turaif district, gaining an immersive experience of Saudi Arabia’s rich cultural heritage. The tour extended to Al-Bujairi district, where delegates explored the Kingdom’s blend of modernity and tradition, reflecting its architectural and cultural identity.

Expressing appreciation for the visit, the delegates commended Saudi Arabia’s efforts in preserving its heritage while positioning itself as a global hub for cultural tourism and economic growth.
