From 10 to 12 February 2025, Dr. Mohamad Maliki Osman, Singapore’s Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office, Second Minister for Education, and Second Minister for Foreign Affairs, visited Manama, Bahrain, to commemorate the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two nations. During his visit, Dr. Maliki engaged in discussions with Bahraini leaders to explore avenues for enhanced cooperation.

On 11 February, Dr. Maliki met with Bahrain’s Crown Prince and Prime Minister, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, at Gudaibiya Palace. The leaders reaffirmed the strong and enduring relations between Bahrain and Singapore, emphasizing their mutual commitment to further strengthening these ties. They highlighted the importance of expanding bilateral cooperation across multiple sectors for the benefit of both nations and their citizens.

In a separate meeting, Dr. Maliki conferred with Bahrain’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani. The discussions focused on deepening bilateral cooperation in areas such as trade, investment, and capacity building. Both ministers exchanged views on regional developments and international efforts to promote peace, security, and stability. Dr. Al Zayani underscored the strong and longstanding relations between Bahrain and Singapore, built on mutual respect and constructive collaboration.

Dr. Maliki’s visit underscored the enduring partnership between Bahrain and Singapore, reflecting shared interests and a mutual commitment to addressing global challenges collaboratively.
