A milestone celebration kicks off a year-long series of events marking six decades of bilateral ties.

SINGAPORE, 13 February 2025 – H.E. Mrs. Ureerat Chareontoh, Ambassador of Thailand to Singapore, hosted a reception titled “Celebrating 60 Years of Shared Journey between Thailand and Singapore” at the Royal Thai Embassy in Singapore. The event marked the beginning of a series of activities commemorating the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Singapore throughout 2025.

As part of the celebrations, the official logo for the milestone was launched on 24 January 2025. Designed by Thai artist Ms. Atcharaporn Ponsong, the logo creatively integrates an elephant and a lion—symbolising Thailand and Singapore, respectively—alongside the national flags of both countries, forming the number “60”. The design represents the enduring friendship and shared commitment to growth between the two nations.

The reception welcomed more than 150 attendees, including representatives from government and private sectors, business leaders from both nations and members of the Thai community in Singapore. Mr. Loy Hui Chien, Director-General of the Southeast Asia II Directorate at Singapore’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, attended as the Guest of Honour.

In her opening remarks, Ambassador Ureerat underscored the deep-rooted relations between Thailand and Singapore, highlighting Singapore’s status as Thailand’s top investor in 2024. She also outlined key upcoming events, including high-level visits, the 7th STEER Meeting in March, the 15th CSEP in June, and a seminar focused on further strengthening bilateral ties.

Mr. Loy Hui Chien reaffirmed the strong economic cooperation between the two nations, particularly in trade, investment, and digital transformation. He highlighted the successful implementation of the PromptPay-PayNow cross-border payment system and future collaborations in green energy, underscoring the commitment to sustainable economic growth.
