
Bilateral Forum Coincides with President Tharman’s State Visit to Egypt
The Egypt-Singapore Business Forum is set to take place in Cairo in May 2025, coinciding with the state visit of H.E. President Tharman Shanmugaratnam to Egypt. The event marks the first major business engagement between the two nations in several years and is expected to attract CEOs, corporate representatives, and high-level officials from both countries.
Egypt is one of the top economic powers in Africa and the Middle East, with a market of 120 million, trained and reasonably priced labour, unique geographical location, strong ties with hundreds of markets in Africa and beyond, and a wide range of potential for trade and investments in various domains.
Ambassador of Egypt to Singapore, Ahmed Mostafa, explained that the forum will be an excellent opportunity for private sector from both side to re- explore the potentials of bilateral cooperation especially after the considerable and unprecedented economic achievements that Egypt has witnessed in the last ten years”.
“Those achievements have changed the whole economic landscape in Egypt and attracted tens of billions worth of investments in many fields, increased exports dramatically and made Egypt a more attractive and reliable economic partner,” he said.
The forum is organized by the Egyptian Businessmen Association EBA from the Egyptian side and Singapore Business Federation SBF from the Singaporean side and it is expected to include business match making meetings and site visits.
Ambassador Ahmed also stated that Singaporean companies interested in taking part in the forum , can contact SBF or visit its website to know more about the selected sectors of business that the forum will be covering and may apply to take part in the business mission being currently composed.
He also assured that such forum is a perfect opportunity to know more about doing business in Egypt and get firsthand information about the incentives given to foreign investments in the Egyptians Market.
