Two vibrant events celebrating Odisha cuisine were held at the Global Indian International School (GIIS) in Singapore, organised in collaboration with Global Schools Group and the Indian High Commission. The Odisha Cuisine Workshop took place on 10 April 2025, followed by the Odisha Food Festival on 12 April 2025.

The Odisha Cuisine Workshop was conducted at the GIIS SMART Campus, where participants had the opportunity to cook alongside renowned chefs Sanjoy Sarkar and Sambit Suman. The session ran from 3.30 PM to 5.00 PM, offering attendees hands-on experience in preparing traditional dishes and learning about the rich culinary heritage of Odisha.

The Odisha Food Festival, set to take place at the Digital Campus of GIIS on Level 2, will invite guests to savour a wide array of authentic Odisha dishes. Running from 11.30 AM to 1.30 PM, the festival will feature specially curated recipes that will be prepared by visiting chefs from Odisha, showcasing the region’s distinctive flavours and culinary traditions.

Both events aimed to promote cultural exchange and deepen the understanding of Odisha’s heritage through its cuisine. They drew enthusiastic participation from the Indian community and food lovers across Singapore, strengthening cultural ties and fostering appreciation for regional Indian cuisines.
