Admiral Stephen Koehler visits Singapore to reaffirm strong US-Singapore defence relations and promote greater naval cooperation.

Commander of the United States Pacific Fleet (US PACFLT), Admiral Stephen Koehler, began his introductory visit to Singapore today. During his visit, he called on Senior Minister of State for Defence Mr. Zaqy Mohamad. Both leaders reaffirmed the strong and long-standing defence relations between Singapore and the United States, and discussed regional geopolitical developments and ways to further strengthen defence cooperation.

Admiral Koehler is in Singapore from 3 to 7 May 2025. Besides meeting Mr. Zaqy, he also called on Chief of Defence Force Vice Admiral Aaron Beng and Chief of Navy Rear Admiral Sean Wat.

As part of his programme, Admiral Koehler will be speaking at the 9th International Maritime Security Conference (IMSC), an important platform for dialogue on maritime security issues.

His visit underlines the strong partnership between the Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN) and the United States Navy (USN). These ongoing interactions have enhanced mutual understanding and cooperation, while also building strong personal and professional relationships.
