Keppel and The Radical Fund co-host forum to accelerate decarbonisation and support green startups shaping the future of sustainable buildings.

Keppel, in collaboration with The Radical Fund, co-hosted Green Disruption: Scaling Sustainability Innovations for the Built Environment at the Keppel Leadership Institute, with support from Enterprise Singapore. The event brought together a diverse group of innovators, investors, and ecosystem builders committed to driving sustainability solutions in the built environment.

Focused on the urgent need for decarbonisation, the forum highlighted the critical role of startups in delivering scalable, real-world impact. Attendees engaged in dialogue around innovation, validation, and commercialisation of green technologies, especially in real estate and infrastructure.

Mr Szue Hann Tan, Director of ESG Strategy, Keppel (Fund Management & Investment), and Head of Sustainability at Keppel’s Real Estate Division, joined Lauren Blasco, Partner at The Radical Fund, in outlining how both organisations are enabling early-stage companies through testbedding, commercial pilot opportunities, and scale-up support.

A thought-provoking panel discussion included insights from Ee Ven Wong (Keppel), Jie Wei Tan (Singapore Green Building Council), Belina Low (General Ambience), and Bill Lee (Azendian). Topics covered ranged from solution validation in real environments, certification pathways for hardware and software, to leveraging government programmes like Enterprise Singapore’s Partnerships for Capability Transformation (PACT). The discussion also underscored the need for stronger regulatory-startup alignment to catalyse systemic innovation.

The event concluded with expressions of gratitude to startup collaborators Kenneth Lee (ENX Systems) and Vince Tay (WTG Engineering & Construction) for their active support. Participants left energised by the dialogue and new partnerships formed—further building momentum for a greener, more resilient built environment in Singapore and beyond.
