Visit commemorates 60 years of France–Singapore diplomatic ties and will feature high-level engagements.

French President Emmanuel Macron will undertake a State Visit to Singapore from 29 to 30 May 2025, marking a significant milestone in bilateral relations between the two nations. The visit reaffirms France’s longstanding partnership with Singapore and sets the stage for deeper cooperation across key strategic areas.

President Macron will be officially welcomed at a ceremonial event at Parliament House on 30 May. He will call on Singapore’s President Tharman Shanmugaratnam, who will host a State Banquet in honour of President Macron and First Lady Mrs Brigitte Macron.

Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Lawrence Wong will also meet with President Macron during the visit. Both leaders are expected to witness the exchange of several Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs), covering cooperation in defence and security, legal affairs, artificial intelligence, and transport infrastructure.

In addition, Prime Minister Wong and Mrs Wong will host a private dinner for President Macron and Mrs Macron on the evening of 29 May.

President Macron’s itinerary will also include delivering the Keynote Address at the 22nd edition of the Shangri-La Dialogue on 30 May. His participation underscores France’s continued strategic interest in the Indo-Pacific and its commitment to regional security dialogues.

The French delegation accompanying the President includes senior members of the French government such as Minister for the Economy, Finance and Industrial and Digital Sovereignty Eric Lombard, Minister of the Armed Forces Sébastien Lecornu, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-Noël Barrot, Minister of Culture Rachida Dati, and Minister Delegate for AI and Digital Affairs Clara Chappaz.
