High-level meeting in Singapore explores cross-border collaboration and long-term supply chain resilience.

On 27 May 2025, The Singapore Manufacturing Federation (SMF) welcomed a courtesy visit from the China–ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) delegation, led by Mr Cheng Gong, Deputy Secretary-General of CAEXPO. The meeting was held at SMF’s headquarters and hosted by SMF Chief Executive Officer Mr Dennis Mark and Director of Internationalisation and Special Projects Mr Martin Yuonn.

The engagement provided a strategic platform for both sides to deepen cooperation and build new momentum for ASEAN–China economic integration. Discussions focused on leveraging business matching to expand market access, especially in manufacturing and adjacent sectors, while nurturing long-term partnerships that drive mutual growth.

Mr Cheng underscored the importance of enhancing cross-border collaboration between Singapore and China, highlighting CAEXPO’s role as a bridge connecting enterprises across Asia. He emphasised the significance of Singapore’s manufacturing ecosystem and its strategic role in supporting regional innovation.

The dialogue also explored avenues to reinforce regional supply chains and co-develop innovation ecosystems that respond to global economic shifts. Both sides agreed that strategic cooperation and sustainability-driven initiatives would be key to ensuring shared prosperity.

SMF reiterated its commitment to advancing regional business partnerships under its S.H.I.P. framework — which prioritises Sustainability, Human Capital, Internationalisation, and Productivity. The visit reaffirmed Singapore’s position as a vital hub for ASEAN–China cooperation and manufacturing advancement.

The meeting concluded on a positive note, with both parties expressing interest in continued engagement through future trade missions and collaborative programmes facilitated by CAEXPO and SMF.
