55 years of diplomatic relations marked by growing economic engagement and direct tourism initiatives.
Singapore and Mongolia continue to strengthen their bilateral ties through deepening trade, investment, and tourism cooperation, as both countries mark 55 years of diplomatic relations. Singapore remains Mongolia’s third-largest foreign investor, with total trade reaching USD 277.87 million in 2021.
Efforts to foster stronger economic relations have intensified in recent years. Flagship business events such as “Mongolia’s Capital Market Connectivity: Singapore” and the “Mongolian Investment Forum: Singapore” have brought together business leaders and investors to explore emerging opportunities. Since 2024, the Singapore Business Federation has started organizing investment forums in Mongolia with large delegations of Singaporean business representatives. A major investment forum is scheduled to take place in the Ulaanbaatar from 16 to 20 June 2025.
Tourism is also emerging as a growing area of collaboration. With support from the Mongolian Embassy, Singaporean tour operators have begun organising direct flights since 2023, enabling nearly 250 Singaporean tourists to travel to Mongolia from 13 to 20 June 2025. In a significant step towards improving connectivity, MIAT Mongolian Airlines plans to launch direct flights between Ulaanbaatar and Singapore in the fourth quarter of this year.
