Official visit underscores growing cooperation between Singapore and Kazakhstan in governance, trade, and inter-faith dialogue.

Singapore, 24–26 June 2025 – Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Maulen Ashimbayev, is on an official visit to Singapore at the invitation of Speaker of Parliament Seah Kian Peng. The visit reciprocates Speaker Seah’s official trip to Kazakhstan in April 2024 and further strengthens parliamentary exchanges between the two nations.

On 24 June, Chairman Ashimbayev was hosted to lunch by Speaker Seah, where both leaders discussed initiatives to deepen inter-parliamentary cooperation. He also called on President Tharman Shanmugaratnam, where discussions centred on enhancing bilateral ties, with a focus on inter-faith dialogue, economic collaboration, and trade connectivity—building on the momentum from President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s state visit in May 2024.

During his visit, Chairman Ashimbayev participated in the International Conference on Cohesive Societies and toured the Punggol Digital District to learn about Singapore’s Smart City efforts.

Chairman Ashimbayev is accompanied by a delegation of four senators and senior officials from Kazakhstan.
