SINGAPORE — In celebration of Singapore’s 60th year of independence, the National Museum of Singapore will host its largest-ever National Day festivities from 18 July to 9 August 2025. Designed to honour the nation’s past while inspiring future generations, the month-long celebration promises immersive experiences for visitors of all ages.
The festival begins with Stories of Singapore: Building Our Heritage Brick by Brick, a colourful showcase created with The LEGO Group in collaboration with CDAC and MJD Pro Group. Visitors can explore a large-scale diorama of iconic local landmarks and take part in interactive activities, including digital colouring, hands-on LEGO builds and contributing to a record-breaking LEGO mural.
As evening falls, the museum’s historic facade transforms through Canvas of Light: Our Nation’s Journey. This popular light-up event presents refreshed visual storytelling that reflects Singapore’s resilience and evolving identity, offering visitors a striking blend of art and history.
On National Day itself, 9 August, the museum will come alive with themed activities spread across four floors, drawing inspiration from the 1987 National Day song We Are Singapore. Guests can join heritage hunts, craft workshops and family-friendly programming throughout the day. The celebrations culminate on the Front Lawn, where families are invited to picnic under the stars and watch a live screening of the National Day Parade 2025 from 5.30pm onwards.
Admission to the brick-themed showcase is free and all visitors can enjoy free admission to the National Museum on 9 August 2025. Full programme details and registration links to ticketed activities will be available on the National Museum’s website from 17 July, 6 PM onwards.
