DAMMAM, Saudi Arabia – The Eastern Region Municipality announced on Thursday, 10 July 2025, the signing of a substantial 25-year contract for the comprehensive development of an industrial zone in Abqaiq Governorate. This strategic project focuses on light industries, support services, and industrial workshops, aligning with the highest international development standards.
The new investment initiative will establish an integrated industrial cluster spanning 391,464 square metres. It features flexible plot sizes ranging from 600 to 2,792 square metres, designed to enhance logistical efficiency and enable investors to effectively meet market demands. This development is poised to revitalise the older industrial zone.
The project’s core objective is to cultivate a stimulating work environment through advanced infrastructure and comprehensive services. This endeavour is expected to significantly contribute to economic and social development, strengthen regional competitiveness, and promote sustainable industrial expansion within the governorate.
The municipality emphasised that this marks a crucial step in redeveloping the area, adhering to stringent technical, architectural, and regulatory benchmarks. This ensures the zone is well-prepared to attract high-quality investments, thereby optimising municipal asset efficiency and supporting the broader economic development of the region.
The industrial zone will host a diverse range of activities. These include industrial complexes, light workshops, service centres, auto dismantling yards, specialised industrial workshops, showrooms, exhibitions, and various general and social support services. This diverse offering is projected to stimulate revenue growth, bolster financial sustainability, and create numerous investment and employment opportunities.
