The Rwanda Development Board and Mandai Wildlife Group celebrate a unique partnership showcasing Rwanda’s Nyungwe Forest at Bird Paradise.
The Rwanda Development Board (RDB) and the Rwanda High Commission in Singapore have marked a significant milestone in Rwanda’s global tourism strategy through their collaboration with Mandai Wildlife Group. The partnership was celebrated at Singapore’s Bird Paradise, alongside the International Luxury Travel Market (ILTM) Asia Pacific.
Launched in 2023, Bird Paradise is part of the world-renowned Mandai Wildlife Reserve, which also houses the Singapore Zoo, River Wonders, Night Safari and the new Rainforest Wild Asia. This nature destination aims to deepen public appreciation for wildlife through immersive experiences and conservation storytelling.
Covering 1.55 hectares, the ‘Rwanda Nyungwe Forest Heart of Africa’ is Bird Paradise’s largest aviary. It is home to over 800 birds, including a variety of African starlings, pigeons, turacos and hornbills. Designed to reflect the lush valleys of Nyungwe National Park in Rwanda, the aviary features a canopy walkway that offers visitors unique views of the birds’ forested habitat.
Speaking at the event, Irene Murerwa, Chief Tourism Officer at the Rwanda Development Board, highlighted Rwanda’s commitment to promoting sustainable tourism and conservation awareness. “We are very proud to partner with Mandai Wildlife Group to showcase Rwanda as a leading eco-tourism destination and inspire conservation the world over,” she said.
The event brought together conservationists, tourism leaders, and media to experience a glimpse of Rwanda’s rich biodiversity, positioning the country as the ‘Heart of Africa’ and a premier luxury eco-tourism destination.
