Thailand’s Ambassador Extends Heartfelt Congratulations to Singapore on its Diamond Jubilee. As part of IN Diplomacy’s Singapore National Day Edition Feature, H.E. Ureerat Chareontoh reflects on decades of friendship and shared achievements.

SINGAPORE – As Singapore marks its 60th National Day, Her Excellency Ureerat Chareontoh, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Republic of Singapore, has extended her warmest congratulations to the Government and people of Singapore.

On the occasion of the National Day of the Republic of Singapore, it is my pleasure to convey to the people of Singapore, and its Government, my warmest wishes, together with those of the Government of Thailand and people.

The 9th of August marks a moment of great national pride, commemorating Singapore’s founding and its journey since 1965. Thailand was among the first countries to establish diplomatic relations with Singapore, and the two nations have since enjoyed close cooperation, including working side-by-side as founding members of ASEAN through the historic Bangkok Declaration in 1967.

As Singapore marks its 60th National Day, there is much for which Singapore can be proud. Its success as a global hub for trade, finance, technology, and education continues to inspire. Above all, Singapore has demonstrated remarkable resilience in overcoming challenges to become a society that embraces diversity and values the contributions of all its people.

This year, as Singapore celebrates its Diamond Jubilee, we also proudly commemorate 60 years of our Diplomatic Relations. Our partnership has grown stronger over the decades, grounded in mutual respect, shared regional aspirations, and a spirit of enduring friendship. This bond has deepened through dynamic trade and investment relations, collaborative innovation, defence and security cooperation, sustainable development efforts, and close people-to-people exchanges.

On this significant day, it is fitting to honour the resilience, innovation, and determination of the people of Singapore in shaping a dynamic and forward-looking nation. This milestone offers a timely opportunity to reflect on our shared journey and to look ahead, towards a future where our two countries continue to serve as engines of regional growth and stability. Thailand stands with Singapore in friendship and solidarity, and looks forward to further strengthening our close relations in the years to come.

In view of all this, allow me once again to extend my heartfelt congratulations to Singapore on the occasion of its Diamond Jubilee, SG60. It is truly an honour to serve as Ambassador of Thailand to Singapore during this dynamic and revitalised chapter of our diplomatic relations. Thailand, its government and people, stand with Singapore in celebrating its many achievements, and look forward to further strengthening our close and enduring partnership in the years ahead.

Majulah Singapura!
