Joint exercise highlights six decades of close defence cooperation and enduring trust.

In celebration of 60 years of diplomatic relations between Singapore and Thailand, the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) and the Royal Thai Air Force (RTAF) unveiled a special commemorative tail flash on an RSAF F-16 fighter aircraft at the opening ceremony of Exercise Air Thai Sing 2025 (ATS25) at Korat Air Base, Thailand.

Hosted by the RTAF, ATS25 runs from 14 to 24 July 2025 and involves eight aircraft and around 200 personnel from both air forces. The bilateral exercise provides valuable opportunities for participants to strengthen their operational skills.

Speaking at the unveiling, RSAF Exercise Director, Colonel Ng Han Lin Max, highlighted the significance of the exercise, stating:  “This exercise is important for us to learn together with our RTAF counterparts, as well as to strengthen the close and longstanding defence relations we have shared for many years. This year’s exercise is a special one as we celebrate the 60th anniversary of both nations’ diplomatic relations. Our shared experiences in training together reflects the strong commitment and trust between both Air Forces and amongst our people.”

Exercise ATS25 and the commemorative tail flash symbolise the enduring defence partnership between Singapore and Thailand. The RSAF and RTAF maintain regular interactions through professional exchanges, high-level visits, cross-attendance of training courses and military exercises, including Exercise Cope Tiger. Such collaborations continue to enhance mutual understanding and bolster the professionalism of both air forces.
