
The Kingdom concludes participation in the UN High-Level Political Forum, showcasing Vision 2030’s impact and fostering key partnerships in New York.
NEW YORK, United States β Saudi Arabia has successfully concluded its participation in the 2025 United Nations High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF), held from 14 to 23 July. The forum served as a critical platform for nations to review global efforts towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) outlined in the 2030 Agenda. The Kingdom’s delegation, led by Minister of Economy and Planning Faisal Alibrahim, comprised representatives from nine government entities.
During the forum, Minister Alibrahim highlighted Saudi Vision 2030 as a national transformation project, stating, βIn the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Saudi Vision 2030 represents a national transformation project, inspired by the ambition of our wise leadership and the aspirations of the people. As a result, the Kingdom has become the fastest-improving G20 country across sustainable development indicators over the past decade.β He also showcased pioneering local efforts, such as the ‘Atlas of Sustainable Development in Al Madinah Neighborhoods’ by the Al Madinah Region Development Authority, which provides in-depth data for policy-making.
Saudi Arabia received recognition from the UN-Water Commission for its tangible strides in the SDG 6 Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) Index. The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture shared the Kingdom’s advancements in enhancing water security and sustainability. Furthermore, the Ministry of Economy and Planning, in collaboration with other entities, organised a side event emphasizing cross-sectoral integration, institutional capabilities, and innovation to accelerate SDG progress.
On the sidelines of the forum, Minister Alibrahim engaged in several meetings with high-level officials. These discussions focused on exploring avenues for mutual collaboration and fostering strategic partnerships. The aim was to strengthen economic and trade relations while expanding investment opportunities. The Saudi Fund for Development also showcased its significant contributions to global sustainable development through its various financing projects.
