India’s first indigenous Survey Vessel Large, INS Sandhayak, arrived in Singapore to reaffirm maritime cooperation and shared hydrographic interests
On the occasion of Singapore’s 60th National Day, the Indian Navy’s first indigenous Survey Vessel Large (SVL), INS Sandhayak, made a port call at the Port of Singapore, underscoring the growing maritime partnership between the two nations.

The vessel’s three-day visit, which commenced on 9 August 2025, aimed to strengthen bilateral ties and showcase India’s commitment to regional maritime cooperation. The arrival of INS Sandhayak, a state-of-the-art survey ship built to support coastal and deep-sea hydrographic operations, highlighted the shared interests of India and Singapore in maintaining a rules-based maritime order.
During the port call, naval officers from both countries engaged in professional exchanges, reaffirming collaboration in hydrographic surveys and maritime domain awareness. These interactions reflected a broader strategic vision for enhanced cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region.
The visit was particularly symbolic, aligning with Singapore’s National Day celebrations and reinforcing the enduring friendship between the Indian and Singaporean navies.
