RIYADH, Saudi Arabia — The Riyadh Metro has achieved a significant new milestone. It officially welcomed its 100 millionth passenger. This landmark was reached less than nine months after the network’s launch. The metro is overseen by the Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC).

The metro’s Blue Line has proven to be the most popular route. It has served approximately 46.5 million passengers to date. The Red Line follows with 17 million riders. The Orange Line has recorded 12 million passengers.

The on-time performance of the metro has been exceptional. The system has maintained a 99.78% punctuality rate. The 100 millionth passenger, Masaad Al-Obaid, praised the new system. He stated the metro “made my life so much easier. It saves time, no stress, no traffic problem, making it a smooth experience.”

The metro is fully integrated with Riyadh’s extensive bus network. This includes on-demand services and public transport parking facilities. The integrated system enhances mobility for residents and visitors. It also reinforces public transport as a modern and sustainable choice.
