
Thailand’s Ambassador to Singapore received a senior defence delegation to discuss bilateral cooperation, regional security, and defence industry development
On 15 September 2025, Her Excellency Ureerat Chareontoh, Ambassador of Thailand to Singapore, welcomed Lieutenant General Prasit Sukwong, Senior Expert at the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Defence of Thailand, together with a delegation from the Defence Technology Institute (DTI). The visit was held on the occasion of their study tour to Rafael Advanced Defence Systems Pte Ltd in Singapore.

During the meeting, Ambassador Ureerat exchanged views with the delegation on areas of bilateral military cooperation and wider regional security developments. The discussions also touched on the growth of Singapore’s defence industry and the strengths of defence industries in other countries.
The Ambassador emphasised the value of strengthening Thailand–Singapore defence cooperation in the context of regional peace and stability. She noted that the exchange of expertise and experience between the two sides could help enhance mutual understanding and capability development.
The visit provided the DTI delegation with insights that would be beneficial for the planning of their future study visits and cooperation projects. It also reinforced the importance of sustained dialogue between defence partners in addressing common challenges in the region.
