A high-level delegation from the College of Defence Management (CDM), Secunderabad, India, undertook a study visit to Singapore as part of its International Strategic Management Tour, designed to expose senior defence officers to global best practices in leadership, strategy, and security management. The visit aimed to strengthen India–Singapore defence ties and explore avenues for enhanced cooperation across emerging areas of strategic interest.

During their engagements in Singapore, the delegation interacted with eminent scholars and policy experts who shared insights on Singapore’s historical development, its strategic role in the region, and the deep-rooted partnership between India and Singapore. Discussions also explored the broader dynamics of India–ASEAN relations, regional developments in the Indo-Pacific, and Singapore’s contributions to regional peace and stability.

A key highlight of the visit was a series of dialogues on technological advancements, particularly in the area of artificial intelligence (AI). The delegation received briefings on Singapore’s latest research and policy initiatives in AI safety and security, gaining valuable perspectives on how technology can be harnessed responsibly within defence and strategic management frameworks.

The delegation also visited the Regional Cooperation Agreement on Combating Piracy and Armed Robbery against Ships in Asia (ReCAAP) Information Sharing Centre. Officials at ReCAAP ISC briefed them on the Centre’s efforts to enhance maritime cooperation and information sharing among member states to counter piracy and armed robbery at sea. The visit underlined the shared commitment of India and Singapore to maintaining secure and open sea lanes in the region.

This visit by the CDM delegation reaffirmed the strong and enduring defence partnership between India and Singapore. It served as an important platform for mutual learning and collaboration, contributing to the broader vision of promoting regional stability, strategic leadership, and cooperative security in the Indo-Pacific.
