
KUALA LUMPUR, 27 October 2025 – The 15th ASEAN–UN Summit was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, reaffirming the shared commitment of both organisations to promote peace, stability, security, and prosperity across the region, grounded in inclusivity and sustainability.
During the meeting, ASEAN Leaders and the United Nations underscored the importance of the ASEAN–UN Comprehensive Partnership in addressing global and regional challenges. The discussions reflected the continued cooperation between both sides in upholding multilateralism and strengthening collective responses to emerging issues such as climate change, sustainable development, and regional security.
The Summit also welcomed the recent adoption of the ASEAN–UN Plan of Action (2026–2030), which will guide future collaboration and contribute to the implementation of ASEAN 2045: Our Shared Future. This new plan builds upon previous frameworks to enhance practical cooperation across political, economic, social, and environmental dimensions.

The meeting was attended by ASEAN Leaders, the Secretary-General of the United Nations, and the Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr Kao Kim Hourn. Participants reaffirmed their dedication to advancing the long-standing partnership and working together towards a more peaceful and sustainable region.
The 15th ASEAN–UN Summit concluded with both sides expressing optimism for continued progress and deeper engagement under the new Plan of Action, reflecting the enduring relevance of the ASEAN–UN Comprehensive Partnership.
