Singapore hosted the 26th ASEAN Chiefs of Army Multilateral Meeting (ACAMM) and the 13th ASEAN Sergeant Majors Annual Meeting (ASMAM) on 26 November 2025, bringing together senior military leaders from across ASEAN to deepen cooperation and strengthen collective responses to regional security challenges. The annual meetings provided platforms for the Chiefs of Army and Sergeant Majors to exchange views, advance collaboration, and reaffirm ASEAN’s shared commitment to stability.

The ACAMM concluded with the issuance of a Joint Statement on “Building Regional Cooperation in Humanitarian Aid and Disaster Relief (HADR)”. Army Chiefs agreed to enhance coordination in HADR operations, including through greater use of digital technologies and preparations for Exercise Trident Resolve in 2026 — the first ADMM-Plus Combined Field Training Exercise to integrate cyber, HADR and military medicine components.

During both meetings, the Singapore Army emphasised the importance of interoperability and professional exchanges in enabling ASEAN militaries to respond more effectively to emergencies and transboundary challenges. The gatherings also reinforced the role of these platforms in strengthening trust and fostering long-term defence cooperation among member states.

In conjunction with the meetings, Singapore also hosted the 33rd ASEAN Armies Rifle Meet (AARM) from 18 to 27 November 2025. More than 420 sharpshooters from ASEAN countries took part in five competitive disciplines, including Carbine, Machine Gun, Pistol Ladies, Pistol Men and Rifle. The annual competition continued to serve as a valuable avenue for camaraderie and professional development.

Singapore reaffirmed its commitment to advancing practical cooperation and supporting ASEAN’s collective readiness. The successful conclusion of ACAMM, ASMAM and AARM further underscored the Republic’s role as a convenor of regional defence collaboration and capacity-building.
