The Singapore Manufacturing Federation (SMF) undertook a delegation visit to the Johor–Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ), returning with practical insights to facilitate cross-border growth opportunities for Singapore businesses. The visit formed part of SMF’s continued efforts to help companies navigate developments in the SEZ and leverage emerging opportunities.

During the programme, EcoWorld briefed delegates on its ready-built and scalable industrial parks that support rapid business expansion. The Invest Malaysia Facilitation Centre–Johor (IMFC-J) also outlined new regulatory improvements, including a seven-day fast-track approval process for non-sensitive manufacturing licences and Johor’s parallel No-Objection clearance system.

TalentCorp presented talent development initiatives tailored for companies operating in the JS-SEZ, with a focus on internship schemes and joint industry–academia programmes aimed at helping SMEs build sustainable talent pipelines. Olive Tree provided data-driven site assessments to guide investment decisions, while FOZL offered clarity on structuring and tax-related requirements for firms looking to establish operations within the zone.

The insights gained from the visit will support SMF’s ongoing work to connect Singapore manufacturers with concrete opportunities in the SEZ. SMF encouraged interested companies to engage further through its upcoming JS-SEZ initiatives.
