The Philippine Embassy in Singapore opened its newly reconstructed Chancery to the public through the inaugural Tuloy Po Kayo! guided tour, highlighting Philippine heritage, art, and people-to-people ties ahead of National Arts Month
The Philippine Embassy in Singapore launched its first Tuloy Po Kayo! guided community tour on the morning of the event, welcoming members of the Filipino community to explore the newly reconstructed Chancery. Organised ahead of National Arts Month, the initiative aimed to foster national pride while offering a deeper understanding of Philippine history, culture, and the Embassy’s role in strengthening ties with Singapore.
The inaugural tour began with the Embassy’s weekly flag-raising ceremony, setting a reflective tone centred on shared identity and civic pride. Participants then proceeded to the Narra Circle, where they learned about the history of the Chancery and the evolution of Philippine–Singapore relations. The segment featured archival photographs and the Narra sculpture by Filipino contemporary artist Jed Yabut, offering a visual narrative that connected diplomacy with artistic expression.
The tour continued at Sinagtala Hall, where guests viewed a modern interpretation of the Philippine flag’s sun and stars, symbolising continuity and renewal. From there, participants visited the Embassy’s public service area before concluding the tour at Sentro Rizal Singapore, which was relaunched earlier this month as a cultural hub. The space now features curated artworks, a library, and flexible areas designed to support cultural and community activities.
Through Tuloy Po Kayo!, the Embassy underscored its commitment to openness and engagement, presenting the Chancery not only as a place of official service but also as a shared cultural space. The initiative reflects a broader effort to bring diplomacy closer to the community, using heritage and the arts as bridges between institutions and people.
