His Excellency Mohammad Alghamdi, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Singapore, attended the Opening Ceremony, reflecting the enduring spiritual connections between Saudi Arabia and Muslim communities worldwide. The event was inaugurated by Singapore’s Minister-in-charge of Muslim Affairs and attended by officials and representatives from various community institutions.

The ceremony highlighted the importance of intercultural dialogue and mutual understanding within Singapore’s multicultural society. The presence of diplomatic representatives and community stakeholders underscored the festival’s role as a platform for engagement, education, and partnership.

SMF 2026 featured a comprehensive programme designed to appeal to both Muslims and non-Muslims. Attendees had the opportunity to listen to talks by internationally renowned Islamic scholars and to experience cultural performances reflecting the diversity of the global Muslim community. A notable highlight was the immersive virtual reality exhibition, offering visitors a digital journey through the sacred sites of Makkah and Madinah, symbolising spiritual preparation for Hajj and Umrah.

The festival also included the SEERAH Exhibition, showcasing artefacts related to the life and legacy of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), alongside exhibitions on Islamic calligraphy and historical artefacts. Lifestyle, fashion, and culinary showcases reflected the dynamism of contemporary Muslim life, while curated animated screenings provided educational engagement for younger audiences.

Beyond its cultural and spiritual dimensions, the event offered a platform for entrepreneurs and Muslim-owned enterprises to present their products and services, reinforcing the role of community-driven initiatives in fostering socio-economic participation.

The Singapore Muslim Festival 2026 exemplified Singapore’s commitment to inclusive community-building and interfaith understanding. Through dialogue, education, and cultural exchange, the festival strengthened bonds within Singapore’s diverse society while reflecting the broader spirit of friendship and shared values that connect communities across borders.
