At the India AI Impact Summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi introduced Bharat’s MANAV framework, setting out a bold and ethical roadmap for artificial intelligence that places humanity at its core.
The global conversation on artificial intelligence entered a new chapter as Narendra Modi inaugurated the India AI Impact Summit, marking a defining moment in India’s technology-led transformation. Positioned as a landmark gathering of world leaders, innovators and industry pioneers, the Summit underscored India’s ambition to shape the global AI discourse through responsibility, inclusivity and collaboration. At its heart was a powerful message: technology must ultimately serve humanity.
In his keynote address, Prime Minister Modi unveiled Bharat’s MANAV vision — a comprehensive framework for a human-centred AI ecosystem. The acronym MANAV reflects five foundational pillars: Moral and Ethical Systems, Accountable Governance, National Sovereignty, Accessible and Inclusive innovation, and Valid and Legitimate deployment. Together, these principles articulate India’s commitment to ensuring that artificial intelligence remains transparent, fair and aligned with democratic values. The vision reinforces the belief that technological progress must be guided not only by innovation, but by integrity and shared responsibility.

The Summit featured keynote addresses from prominent global leaders, including Emmanuel Macron, António Guterres, Natarajan Chandrasekaran, Sundar Pichai, and Dario Amodei. Their perspectives reflected a shared recognition of India’s growing influence within the global AI ecosystem. From ethical governance and regulatory frameworks to innovation-driven growth, the speakers emphasised the need for collective international cooperation in navigating AI’s transformative power.
Bringing together 20 Heads of State and Government, leaders of international organisations, and top figures from global business and technology sectors, the India AI Impact Summit stands as a testament to India’s leadership in shaping the future of artificial intelligence. The gathering reinforced a unified commitment to harnessing AI for innovation, sustainable development and social inclusion. As the world advances deeper into the age of intelligent systems, India’s MANAV vision offers a guiding framework — one that balances technological ambition with humanity’s broader interests.
