Dr. Kao Kim Hourn met AIIB President Zou Jiayi on 25 February 2026 at the ASEAN Secretariat to enhance cooperation on sustainable infrastructure and connectivity.
On 25 February 2026, the Secretary-General of ASEAN, Kao Kim Hourn, received the new President and Chair of the Board of Directors of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), Zou Jiayi, at the ASEAN Headquarters/ASEAN Secretariat.
During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on strengthening cooperation between ASEAN and AIIB. They discussed supporting ASEAN’s priorities on regional connectivity and sustainable infrastructure development.
Key areas of discussion included transport, energy, and digital infrastructure. They also explored collaboration in infrastructure financing to support development projects across ASEAN Member States.
Dr. Kao congratulated Madam Zou on her recent assumption of office as AIIB President. He expressed his confidence in further deepening the ASEAN-AIIB partnership in the years ahead.
The meeting highlights ASEAN’s commitment to working closely with international financial institutions to promote sustainable growth and stronger regional integration.
