Ms Nomita Dhar, Editor-in-Chief of Sun Media, recently paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr Tran Phuoc Anh, Ambassador of Vietnam to Singapore, during which both sides exchanged views on strengthening media engagement and bilateral cooperation in key growth sectors.

During the meeting, Ambassador Anh expressed that Vietnam is currently prioritising deeper cooperation with Singapore in two strategic areas: science, technology and innovation, and the development of International Financial Centres.

The Ambassador highlighted that science, technology, innovation and digital transformation form a central pillar of Vietnam’s national development agenda. He underscored the importance of building stronger partnerships with Singapore, recognising the city-state’s established ecosystem in research, technology and digital advancement.

In addition, Ambassador Anh pointed to Vietnam’s recent inauguration of two financial centres in Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City. He described the development as a significant milestone in the country’s efforts to strengthen its financial infrastructure and position itself as a competitive destination for global capital.

Acknowledging Singapore’s standing as one of the world’s leading international financial centres, the Ambassador stated that Vietnam is keen to learn from Singapore’s experience and best practices. He extended an open invitation to Singaporean banks, financial institutions, investors and companies to explore opportunities and expand their presence in Vietnam.

The meeting reaffirmed the shared commitment to strengthening Vietnam–Singapore relations and fostering cooperation in high-growth sectors that support sustainable economic development and regional integration.
