Indonesia and Sembcorp discuss industrial estate development and renewable energy collaboration in Singapore
The Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Singapore, H.E. Hotmangaraja Pandjaitan, received a courtesy visit from Gareth Wong, Chief Operating Officer of Sembcorp Integrated Urban Solutions Pte. Ltd., at the Embassy of Indonesia in Singapore. The meeting focused on strengthening strategic cooperation in integrated industrial estates and sustainable energy development in Indonesia.
The engagement was held at the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Singapore and formed part of ongoing diplomatic outreach to enhance Indonesia–Singapore economic collaboration. Senior representatives from Sembcorp’s management team also attended the discussion.
During the meeting, both sides reviewed the progress of Sembcorp’s strategic projects in Indonesia, particularly in the development of integrated industrial zones and the energy and power generation sectors. Ongoing initiatives were acknowledged as contributing to national economic growth, enhancing industrial competitiveness, and generating employment opportunities across various regions in Indonesia.
The discussions also explored future collaboration opportunities, including the development of sustainable industrial estates integrated with clean energy solutions. Optimising the use of renewable energy sources was highlighted as a key area of interest, in line with Indonesia’s energy transition agenda and sustainable development commitments.
Ambassador Pandjaitan conveyed appreciation for Sembcorp’s continued commitment and contribution to Indonesia’s industrial and energy sectors. The Embassy reaffirmed its readiness to facilitate partnerships between Indonesia and strategic stakeholders in Singapore to promote quality investment and long-term cooperation.
The meeting concluded with a shared understanding to further advance collaboration in industrial development and sustainable energy initiatives, supporting the continued strengthening of bilateral economic ties between Indonesia and Singapore.
