A MULTI-SENSORY SHOW BRINGS ECOLOGY, ART AND PLAY TO LIFE FOR ALL AGES
National Gallery Singapore will present When Art Meets Nature, a new immersive exhibition running from 30 April to 1 November 2026 at City Hall Wing, Level 1, City Hall Alcove and Keppel Centre for Art Education. Open to the public with free admission, the exhibition is designed to engage children and families through art, play and environmental exploration.
Co-curated by Taoyuan Museum of Fine Arts and National Gallery Singapore, the exhibition brings selected works first shown in 2025 at the Taoyuan Children’s Art Center to Singapore audiences. It offers a rare opportunity to experience these installations within a new context that blends art, ecology and education.
Among the highlights is Peace Forest by Singaporean artist Soh Ee Shaun, an immersive installation that transforms the gallery into a tactile forest environment. Featuring soft sculptures of endangered animals and botanical forms, the work encourages open-ended play and invites visitors to reflect on biodiversity and conservation.
Complementing this is Where the River Runs by Taiwanese artist Yenting Hsu, a sound-based installation inspired by indigenous communities living along Taiwan’s Dahan River. Through layered audio and storytelling, the work explores themes of cultural memory, ecological knowledge and the relationship between people and waterways.
By combining sensory engagement with artistic expression, the exhibition highlights the interconnectedness of nature and culture. It also reflects the Gallery’s continued commitment to regional collaboration and fostering environmental awareness through accessible, family-oriented programming.
