Annual festival returns from May 1 to 24, celebrating Singapore’s deep connection to the sea and its maritime communities.

The Singapore HeritageFest (SHF) returns from 1 to 24 May 2026, offering more than 100 programmes that highlight Singapore’s rich maritime heritage. The event, now in its 23rd edition, is being organised for the first time by HeritageSG, a subsidiary of the National Heritage Board.

Announced on 21 April 2026, the festival will feature a wide range of activities including cultural performances, guided trails, water and land tours, workshops, and exhibitions. These programmes aim to showcase the stories, trades, and communities that shaped Singapore’s historic waterways and continue to influence its identity as a global maritime hub.

Festival Director Qazim Karim said Singapore’s history is closely tied to the sea, from its early days as a trading port to its modern role in global shipping. He noted that the festival brings together partners from across communities to explore maritime heritage from different perspectives and deepen public engagement.

The 2026 edition involves more than 100 community partners and heritage practitioners. Programmes will include interactive experiences that reimagine port life and hands-on activities showcasing traditional seafaring practices. Returning supporters include YHS Singapore (Yeo’s) as Official Partner and Stellar Ace as Official Sponsor, while new partners such as Aroma Nostalgia, Kebon Dapor, Thong Siek Global, and the Singapore Navy Museum will contribute fresh ideas.

One of the key highlights is HOMEGROUND @ ACM Green, where visitors can enjoy exhibitions, performances, and workshops focused on Singapore’s cultural roots. In addition, the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore will mark its 30th anniversary with special programmes, including guided tours, vessel visits, and themed trails.

The festival aims to bring communities together while celebrating Singapore’s enduring relationship with the sea and its role as a leading maritime nation.
