On 15 July 2026, H.E. Ambassador Cao Zhongming of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Singapore met with Mr. Sean Chiao, Chief Executive Officer of Singapore-based SJ Group, to discuss the company’s development and future opportunities in the Chinese market. Mr. Kelvin Wong Wee Siong, Group Chief Commercial Officer, Ms. Windy Wendy Ying Ying, Chief People and Culture Officer, and Counsellor Kang Yiming from the Embassy also attended the meeting.

During the meeting, H.E. Ambassador Cao Zhongming highlighted SJ Group’s long-standing presence in China and recognised the company as a globally renowned enterprise in the building environment sector. He expressed hope that SJ Group would continue to leverage its professional expertise and further integrate itself into the high-quality development of China-Singapore economic and trade cooperation.

H.E. Ambassador Cao also encouraged SJ Group to continue exploring opportunities in China by applying its strengths in planning, design, and urban development. He noted that enterprises with international experience and innovative capabilities can contribute to sustainable urban development and deepen practical cooperation between China and Singapore.

Mr. Sean Chiao stated that SJ Group will continue to harness its strengths in planning, design, and urban development while actively pursuing opportunities arising from China’s 15th Five-Year Plan. He added that the Group aims to create more benchmark and exemplary projects that showcase successful China-Singapore collaboration.

The meeting reflects the continued engagement between Singapore enterprises and China, particularly in areas related to the built environment, sustainable development, and urban transformation. SJ Group’s ongoing involvement in China highlights the opportunities for greater cooperation between businesses from both countries.
