H.E. Mr. Cao Zhongming, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of Singapore, recently met with Mr. Wong Kee Joo, Chairman of the National Youth Achievement Award (NYAA) Board of Trustees, alongside Mr. James Soh, Executive Director of the NYAA Council, and Ms. Aileen Yap, Deputy Executive Director. The meeting underscored the shared commitment to strengthening youth engagement and fostering deeper people-to-people ties between China and Singapore.

During the discussion, H.E. Ambassador Cao commended the NYAA Council for its longstanding efforts in developing young leaders and serving as a bridge for youth exchanges between the two countries. He noted that the Council has made significant contributions to promoting mutual understanding, friendship and closer connections between the peoples of China and Singapore through its various youth initiatives.

Emphasising that young people are the driving force behind the future of China–Singapore relations, H.E. Ambassador Cao expressed his hope for closer collaboration with the NYAA Council. He looked forward to expanding meaningful exchange programmes that encourage leadership development, cross-cultural learning and stronger cooperation between the youth of both nations.

The meeting reflected the shared vision of both sides to create broader opportunities for young people to learn, connect and grow together. By further strengthening youth exchanges, China and Singapore continue to invest in the next generation of leaders while reinforcing the enduring friendship and partnership between the two countries.
