Australia reaffirmed its support for education cooperation with ASEAN and East Asia Summit partners.
Australia participated in the 8th East Asia Summit (EAS) Education Ministers’ Meeting in Singapore, where Australian High Commissioner to Singapore H.E. Robyn Mudie joined ASEAN and EAS partners under the theme “Strengthening ASEAN Through Education”. The meeting followed the launch of the ASEAN Work Plan on Education 2026 to 2030.

Australian education programmes have supported people-to-people links and stronger institutional ties with Southeast Asia. As ASEAN and Australia celebrated the fifth anniversary of the ASEAN Australia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in 2026, education and skills development continued to serve as an important pillar of the partnership through scholarships, fellowships, future skills initiatives, research collaboration and institutional partnerships.
Australia also reaffirmed its commitment to working with ASEAN and EAS partners to strengthen education cooperation and support a stronger and more connected region.
