The Bangladesh High Commission in Singapore officially launched voter registration and National Identity (NID) registration services for Bangladeshi citizens residing in Singapore on 4 August 2026. The initiative allows eligible citizens to complete voter and NID registration without returning to Bangladesh.

Bangladesh Election Commissioner Mr. Abul Fazal Md. Sanaullah attended the launch as the chief guest and officially inaugurated the service. During the ceremony, he presented smart cards to three Bangladeshi citizens living in Singapore and engaged with members of the Bangladeshi community, responding to questions on National Identity Card registration.

In his remarks, Mr. Sanaullah said the Bangladesh Election Commission continued working to make voter registration and National Identity services more transparent and accountable. The event was attended by leaders of the Bangladeshi community in Singapore, Bangladeshi citizens from various professions and officials from the Bangladesh High Commission.

The High Commission’s Charge d’Affaires, Ms. Luthfun Nahar, said the High Commission would continue working to make National Identity registration services for Bangladeshi citizens in Singapore simpler, faster and more efficient.
