Thailand’s Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn led a delegation to Singapore for a study visit featuring Parliament House, SAFTI Military Institute, and other key national institutions.
Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn of the Kingdom of Thailand led a delegation from the Chulachomklao Royal Military Academy on a study visit to Singapore from 2 to 4 August 2026. The visit was aimed at learning more about Singapore’s history, governance, and national development through engagements with key institutions.
The study visit included visits to Parliament House, the SAFTI Military Institute, the Monetary Authority of Singapore> Gallery, and Fort Siloso on Sentosa. The programme provided the delegation with insights into Singapore’s parliamentary system, defence education, economic development, and national heritage.
During her visit to Parliament House, Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn observed parliamentary proceedings before being hosted to afternoon tea by Minister Seah Kian Peng. The engagement was attended by Singapore’s Ambassador to Thailand Catherine Wong, Deputy Speaker Christopher de Souza, and Members of Parliament Darryl David, Mariam Jaafar, Eileen Chong, and Kuah Boon Theng.
Minister Seah described it as an honour to welcome the Princess and her delegation to Parliament House. He said he appreciated their conversations and noted that the Princess was “warm, engaging and caring.”
The delegation also visited the Officer Cadet School at SAFTI Military Institute, where Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn was hosted by Acting Minister for Muslim Affairs and Senior Minister of State for Defence and Sustainability and the Environment Zaqy Mohamad. Additional visits to the Monetary Authority of Singapore Gallery and Fort Siloso provided further perspectives on Singapore’s financial development and historical heritage.
