LKF Medical’s century-long journey reflects Singapore’s manufacturing heritage and international business growth
As Singapore marked its 61st National Day under the theme “Majulah Singapura, Go Beyond!”, Leung Kai Fook Medical (LKF Medical) was recognised under the SIMEA 2026 SG60 Hall of Honour for its longstanding contribution to Singapore’s industrial development.
Founded in 1928 by Leung Yun Chee, LKF Medical is best known for its Axe Brand Universal Oil and will mark its centenary in 2028. The company began with a single Singapore-made product and has since expanded its presence to more than 50 countries, with manufacturing operations across Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam and China.
Now led by the founder’s third generation, LKF Medical represents one of Singapore’s longstanding homegrown manufacturers, having built its business through successive generations while expanding its international presence.
The recognition formed part of SIMEA’s National Day spotlight on Singapore companies that have contributed to the country’s industrial development. It also reflected the broader National Day theme of looking beyond Singapore’s achievements to future opportunities, innovation and continued growth.
As Singapore moves beyond its 60th year of independence, companies such as LKF Medical continue to form part of the country’s industrial heritage and international business story.
