The High Commission of India in Singapore organised two hands-on art workshops as part of its Independence Day 2026 celebrations.
The High Commission of India in Singapore celebrated India’s artistic heritage through Warli and Gond art workshops held as part of the Independence Day 2026 celebrations.
In collaboration with the Singapore Indian Fine Arts Society (SIFAS), the High Commission organised a hands-on Warli art workshop for participants of all ages. Participants learnt the visual language of the traditional art form before creating their own artworks.
A separate Gond art workshop was hosted in collaboration with StrokeArts Singapore, giving participants an opportunity to discover and experience the Indian folk art tradition through a hands-on session.
Through the hands-on sessions, participants gained a closer understanding of the visual styles and creative practices behind two of India’s distinctive folk art traditions.
