
Singapore and Indian leaders discussed strengthening bilateral cooperation in key areas ahead of the fourth India-Singapore Ministerial Roundtable
Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong met India’s Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, External Affairs Minister Dr S. Jaishankar, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal, and Minister of State Jitin Prasada in Singapore ahead of the fourth India-Singapore Ministerial Roundtable (ISMR). The meeting discussed ways for Singapore and India to build on progress made through the ISMR and further advance their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
The meeting took place ahead of the fourth ISMR, bringing together senior government representatives from Singapore and India for discussions on bilateral cooperation as well as regional and global developments. The engagement formed part of continued high-level exchanges between the two countries, which have maintained longstanding and expanding cooperation across multiple areas.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Wong and the Indian ministers discussed opportunities to strengthen bilateral cooperation in advanced manufacturing, digitalisation, sustainability and connectivity. They also considered ways to build on the progress achieved through the ISMR and further develop the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Singapore and India.
The discussions also covered key regional and global developments, reflecting the two countries’ continued engagement on issues of shared interest. Singapore and India have maintained close ties across economic, technological and strategic sectors, with the ISMR providing a platform for senior ministers to identify areas for cooperation and advance bilateral initiatives.
The fourth ISMR was expected to provide further opportunities for Singapore and India to deepen cooperation across priority sectors and strengthen their bilateral partnership. The meeting also set the stage for continued ministerial engagement on shared economic, regional and global interests.
