Philippine firms explored partnerships with Singapore stakeholders in construction and professional services.
The Philippine Overseas Construction Board (POCB), an implementing board of the Construction Industry Authority of the Philippines (CIAP) under the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), led the First Philippine Construction Business Mission to Singapore from 2 to 4 September 2026. Held on the sidelines of Built Environment Expo (BEX) Asia 2026, the mission aimed to promote Philippine capabilities in construction, architecture, engineering and design services outsourcing, while facilitating business matching and partnerships with Singapore stakeholders.
BEX Asia 2026 is an ASEAN built-environment exhibition featuring developers, contractors, architects, engineers, consultants, technology providers and other industry participants. The event highlighted developments in digitalisation, sustainability and construction productivity.
As part of the mission, POCB organised the Philippine Forum, titled “Build with the Philippines: A Forum on Partnership Opportunities with Singapore,” on 3 September at BEX Asia 2026. The forum presented Philippine expertise in construction, architecture, engineering, digital design and related professional services, while providing opportunities for engagement with Singapore-based developers, contractors and technology providers.
In his remarks, Philippine Ambassador to Singapore H.E. Medardo G. Macaraig identified the built environment as an area where the longstanding Philippines-Singapore partnership could generate economic opportunities. He noted growing demand in ASEAN for modern infrastructure, sustainable development, digitalisation and greater resilience.
The Ambassador said the objective should extend beyond Philippine companies seeking entry into the Singapore market. He encouraged Philippine and Singaporean firms to combine their expertise, technology, talent and business networks to pursue opportunities in both countries and the wider ASEAN region.
The delegation also hosted a Philippine Information Booth and held one-on-one business meetings and other engagements with Singapore-based companies and industry stakeholders. These activities enabled Philippine firms to present their capabilities, understand potential partners’ requirements and identify areas for collaboration.
The mission supported the internationalisation of Philippine construction and professional services firms by connecting them with regional markets and potential partners. The Embassy also invited Singapore stakeholders to explore PHILCONSTRUCT Mindanao 2026, held from 3 to 5 September at SMX Convention Center Davao and SM Lanang Premier, and the upcoming PHILCONSTRUCT Visayas 2026, scheduled for 26 to 28 November at SMX Convention Center Seaside Cebu.
