Wesgro’s Gcina Nomsa Dlamini will leverage South Africa Focus Week in Singapore to expand Western Cape trade and investment across ASEAN.
Ms. Gcina Nomsa Dlamini, also known as Noms, Senior Manager: International Trade and Development – ASEAN at Wesgro, will focus on expanding trade and investment opportunities between the Western Cape and ASEAN markets during South Africa Focus Week Singapore in September 2026. Her engagement in Singapore will centre on connecting Western Cape businesses with international buyers, distributors, investors and strategic commercial partners while showcasing the province’s export capabilities.
Ms. Nomsa’s participation in South Africa Focus Week Singapore will provide an opportunity to engage Singaporean stakeholders and explore practical commercial opportunities for Western Cape businesses. The programme will facilitate engagement among South African and Singaporean stakeholders, with a focus on business connections, market access and investment opportunities.
In her role at Wesgro, the official tourism, trade and investment promotion agency for the Western Cape, Ms. Nomsa leads strategic engagement with the ASEAN region. Her work supports export-ready businesses with internationalisation, market access and export development, while facilitating relationships that can support longer-term commercial partnerships.
During her engagement in Singapore, Ms. Nomsa will focus on “strengthening relationships with key stakeholders across the ecosystem” and exploring opportunities that could create “meaningful commercial outcomes for Western Cape businesses”. She will also seek to showcase the Western Cape’s capabilities in agri-processing, food and beverage, wines, tourism, technology, innovation and investment.
ASEAN will remain a strategic focus of Ms. Nomsa’s work as South Africa seeks deeper economic ties with Southeast Asia. She will highlight the region’s importance as a market for diversifying trade relationships, expanding market access and developing commercial partnerships.
Ms. Nomsa brings a professional background spanning international trade, financial services, diplomacy and economic development. She previously worked at Investec Private Bank and the South African Embassy in Washington, D.C., and has been involved in high-level economic diplomacy, including accompanying President Cyril Ramaphosa and the South African delegation on an ASEAN state visit.
She holds a BCom in Economics and Econometrics from the University of Johannesburg and is completing an Executive MBA at IE Business School in Madrid. Her work also extends to tourism and business development through Merchantry Worldwide, which she founded as a platform connecting travel, business and investment.
