Ambassador López received recognition for scientific diplomacy, dialogue and international cooperation.
Ms. Jessica María López, Ambassador of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to the Republic of Singapore, received the title of Academic Honoris Causa from the European Academy of Sciences based in Belgrade, Serbia, during World Invent Singapore 2026 on 27 August.
The distinction recognised Ambassador López’s contribution to scientific diplomacy, dialogue between nations, and the promotion of knowledge, peace and global progress. In her acceptance speech, she thanked the institution and its President, Baroness Snjezana Rajacic, while highlighting sincere dialogue, mutual understanding and the common good as values guiding her diplomatic work.
Ambassador López also reaffirmed the principles of Bolivarian Diplomacy of Peace, centred on cooperation between peoples, respect for sovereignty and international law. She further emphasised the role of science, education and knowledge in connecting nations and building stronger international relations. The recognition also highlighted Venezuela’s participation in scientific, cultural and educational exchange platforms in Southeast Asia through the Singapore-based event.
