Thirteen students from Mexico’s UP Universidad Panamericana arrived in Singapore as part of the second edition of a corporate innovation exchange programme fostering long-term ties between the two countries.
The Embassy of Mexico in Singapore welcomed the second generation of the Mexico-Singapore Corporate Innovation Programme, hosting the students together with Universidad Panamericana (UP México) at a reception held at the Embassy.
The group consistof thirteen students who will spend the year exploring Singapore first-hand, a city-state of 730 square kilometres that can be crossed in a single morning, yet stands as a crossroads of Asia with four official languages and a port that has been taking shape for two centuries. The Embassy described Singapore as a hub of commerce and business that, like any living city, is constantly discussed, built upon, and never quite finished.
The programme was developed with patience and determination by professors José Bulás and Alejandra Tenorio, who have built something governments often find difficult to create: friendships capable of lasting a lifetime. This year’s group of thirteen students will be followed by another thirteen next year, continuing the programme’s steady growth.
As with any bridge, the Embassy noted, the true significance of this initiative will reveal itself over decades rather than seasons — reflecting a long-term view of the people-to-people ties the programme is designed to build between Mexico and Singapore.
The programme reflects the broader effort by both countries to deepen educational and professional exchange, giving young Mexican students direct exposure to Singapore’s business environment and international outlook.
