The “Rasa Malaysia” food festival is being held at JEN Singapore Tanglin by Shangri-La from 11 September to 9 October 2026, showcasing regional Malaysian cuisine through dishes prepared by Malaysian guest chefs. The festival is part of the cultural programme associated with Malaysia’s National Day and Malaysia Day celebrations in Singapore.

Ms Nomita Dhar, Editor-in-Chief of IN Diplomacy, attended the culinary event, which featured Malaysian dishes representing different regions of the country. The programme offered guests an opportunity to experience Malaysian cuisine through a selection of traditional dishes and live cooking stations.

The festival featured regional specialities including salted egg prawns from Pahang and Itik Lemak Chili Api from Melaka. Live stations also served Roti Canai, Nasi Kandar and Sarawak Laksa, prepared by guest chefs from Penang and Kota Kinabalu.

The event highlighted the diversity of Malaysian cuisine by presenting dishes associated with different parts of the country. The participation of guest chefs also provided a platform for Malaysian culinary traditions to be presented to diners in Singapore.

High Commissioner of Malaysia to Singapore, H.E. Datin Paduka Anizan Siti Hajjar Adnin, attended the programme and highlighted the role of cuisine in cultural engagement. “Food is our most delicious ambassador,” she said, giving guests a glimpse into the wider cultural programme accompanying the celebrations.

The Rasa Malaysia festival follows the National Day and Malaysia Day reception hosted by the High Commission of Malaysia in Singapore and extends the celebrations through a culinary programme. Held at JEN Singapore Tanglin by Shangri-La in the Orchard area, the festival will continue until 9 October.

Through its selection of regional dishes and participation by Malaysian chefs, the programme presents Malaysian culinary traditions to audiences in Singapore while providing an additional platform for cultural exchange between the two countries.
