The discussions covered issues at the intersection of international security, technological development and global cooperation. As digital and emerging technologies continue to present both opportunities and risks, international dialogue remains important in developing common approaches and safeguards.

Dr Balakrishnan emphasised the role of the United Nations as a platform for countries to find common ground and develop shared rules and safeguards. He noted that Singapore would continue to work constructively with the UN and its international partners to support multilateral cooperation in these areas.

Singapore International Cyber Week serves as an international platform for discussions on cybersecurity and related digital policy issues, bringing together stakeholders to exchange views on developments affecting the digital environment.

The meeting reflected Singapore’s engagement with the United Nations and international partners on disarmament, digital governance and emerging technologies. Cooperation in these areas remains relevant as countries consider how to address security concerns while making use of technological advances.

Singapore will continue to engage with the UN and its partners to support dialogue and cooperation on these interconnected issues.
