The course was held during 5 – 27 July 2023, and was well-attended by 23 representatives from diplomatic missions in Thailand and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
On 27 July 2023, Devawongse Varopakarn Institute of Foreign Affairs (DVIFA) concluded the “2023 Knowledge of Diplomacy” training course under the theme “Innovation and Sustainability.” Organized for members of the Diplomatic Corps in Thailand and Thai diplomats, the program was aimed to introduce the participants to Thailand’s foreign policy, as well as experience of both government and private sectors in applying innovation to sustainability promotion. On this occasion, Mrs. Thitiporn Chirasawadi, Director of the DVIFA, delivered closing remarks.
Throughout the program, the attendees were presented lectures by experts on Thai diplomacy, development diplomacy, Thailand’s role in regional frameworks, Sufficiency Economy Philosophy (SEP), Bio-Circular-Green (BCG) Economy Model, and Thailand’s progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The delegation also visited leading public and private agencies in innovation and sustainability, such as the Rice Science Center of Kasetsart University, Food Innopolis, Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency (GISTDA), Automation Park and Thailand Genome Sequencing Center situated in Eastern Economic Corridor, Energy Absolute, and SCG Digital Innovation Garage.
