On May 2nd, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of the Republic of Uzbekistan met with Speaker Xia Qian Peng of the Parliament of the Republic of Singapore. The meeting took place as part of the Tashkent International Investment Forum. During their discussion, Speaker Peng expressed gratitude for the warm reception and praised the forum’s organization.
The leaders acknowledged the significant progress in Uzbekistan-Singapore relations over the past year, noting successful bilateral visits and the steady increase in trade volume and joint projects. Sectors such as textiles, chemicals, agriculture, and logistics have witnessed notable collaboration.
Both parties underscored the importance of establishing effective joint parliamentary oversight to ensure the implementation of high-level agreements.
